How padel games are played on Lineup

Padel on Lineup is 2v2 doubles on an enclosed court, with the walls in play. That is what makes it different from tennis: the ball coming off the glass is part of the rally, not the end of it.

Scoring follows tennis. A match is best of three sets, each set is played to six games and must be won by two, and a tie-break runs to seven. When the score is entered after a game, that result is what moves your padel level.

What your padel level actually measures

Padel rewards control far more than power, so the assessment asks about a forehand drive that holds up under pressure, whether you use the walls deliberately rather than by accident, and whether you can play the smash and the vibora.

There is also a question only a padel player can answer: what a bandeja is. Somebody who has played will answer it without thinking. It is a quiet check against over-claiming, so the level you arrive at means something to the three people on court with you.

What each level looks like in padel

Levels run from 0 to 7 and are held to one decimal, so most people sit between these bands. This is a guide to what each one tends to look like on court, not a test you sit.

1 · Beginner

Rallies break down quickly. The back wall is a surprise rather than a tool, and most points end on an unforced error.

2 · Novice

You keep a rally going and you have stopped flinching at the glass. Serves land, lobs are attempted, positioning is still reactive.

3 · Intermediate

A forehand drive you can trust, lobs played on purpose, and you know which side of the court to cover. This is where most social padel in Dubai sits.

4 · Skilled

The bandeja is under control, you volley with intent rather than hope, and you hold the net once you have taken it.

5 · Advanced

You construct points instead of reacting to them. The vibora and the smash are weapons, and you are rarely caught out of position.

6 · Expert

Club and competition standard, usually with coaching behind it.

7 · Elite

The top of the scale, reached only through sustained results against strong opposition.
