How cricket games are played on Lineup
Cricket on Lineup is played as two teams across innings, at grounds and cages around Dubai. It is the sport where a single player turning up alone is most common, because assembling two full sides privately is close to impossible.
Scores are recorded as runs and wickets for each innings. The confirmed result is what adjusts the cricket level of everyone who played.
What your cricket level actually measures
Cricket splits into two very different skills, so the assessment covers both. It asks how you would describe your shot-making as a batter, whether you can play spin without losing your wicket too often, and what your action and control are like as a bowler.
It also asks what a maiden over is. Anyone who has played answers instantly, which makes it a useful check that a stated level is real.
Your cricket level is separate from your level in every other sport, and it is worked out from results rather than from what anyone claims about themselves. There is more on how levels are decided.
What each level looks like in cricket
Levels run from 0 to 7 and are held to one decimal, so most people sit between these bands. This is a guide to what each one tends to look like on court, not a test you sit.
1 · Beginner
You know the format and can make contact, but shot selection and bowling line are inconsistent.
2 · Novice
You occupy the crease for a while and bowl a recognisable line, though pace and spin both cause trouble.
3 · Intermediate
Real shot-making off the front and back foot, and a bowling action you can repeat with control.
4 · Skilled
You play spin without losing your wicket cheaply, rotate strike deliberately, and vary your bowling with intent.
5 · Advanced
You build an innings and bowl to a plan. Strong in both disciplines or genuinely specialised in one.
6 · Expert
Club or league standard with formal cricket behind it.
7 · Elite
The top of the scale, earned through sustained results.
Joining a cricket game
You do not need a team, a partner or a group. You take one open place in a game and the rest of the roster fills around you. Every listing shows the venue, the time, the format, the cost and the level range before you commit, so you know who you are playing with. See how finding players works.
If you have booked a court you can no longer use, you can pass it on rather than lose it. See court slots.
